PREACH!!! I so agree with you on this point.

Thank you Lizzie, a good reminder for a Monday morning and before Easter weekend. I agree with Rosy the government could do a lot more around healthier diets. It is very hard for people on low incomes not just the cost but also the perceived time. Many work very long hours and the cheapest quickest options are not always the best.

Thank you – and yes! The cost is a real difficulty, and the food industry has taken cooking off people's idea of how they should spend time – and it's often not ask much as people think. And many people have no idea how to cook.

Could not have made this point better. Buy and cook from the basic ingredients.

Thank yolu! And yes!!

A great piece on point, Lizzie. Sadly, as you say, the processed food industry is so huge that no Government will want to tackle it head on. It’s down to us as individuals to eat healthily. But the Government could do more to encourage healthy eating by raising awareness of a healthy diet and subsidising foods that are good for us, such as fish, which is incredibly expensive. At the end of the day it all comes down to money and people on low incomes will buy the cheapest option, which is often the least healthiest option.

Thank you, rosy. You're right – there's definitely a need to support people on low incomes, but essentially governments everywhere need to tackle it the same way as the tobacco industry.

Yes, definitely. It’s just as harmful, if not more so.
